GUILFORD, Conn. -- A 1-year-old child was struck by a paintball Thursday while her mother was feeding her in a car.
The mother was feeding her infant daughter in a parked car in the front parking lot of the CVS at 1057 Boston Post Road at about 2 p.m. when someone in a moving vehicle fired, police said.
An orange paintball went through the open window, striking the child, police said.
Paramedics treated the infant, who was not taken to the hospital.
Police said it is possible that whoever fired the paintball was not aware that anyone was in the car that was struck.
Police said several parked cars were hit by paintballs before the child was hit.
Police said they are aware of no other witnesses and do not have a description of the person who fired the paintball.
